Construction of Pitched roofs and Structures
The strength of a roof structure has be designed after taking into account many factors including wind effects, snow loadings, etc. Unusual roofing structure featuring eyebrow dormer windows and so on , will cost more. A roof with hips and valleys will involve a higher level of joinery skills that a straightforward duo pitch structure roof. If a roof space is needed for a loft conversion project later on, most preformed roof trusses are not designed with this in mind. Some special lofts can be design in such way but it will cost more because of the traditional purlin and rafter construction. The nature of many older buildings usually requires on site constructions rather than prefabrication.
