Spot lights and track lighting systems A single light hanging from the centre of the ceiling may provide adequate illumination for a normal sized room, but is unlikely to show the room to its best advantage and may even create an impression of dinginess and neglect. Spot light provide an alternative form illumination which offers both practical and aesthetical advantages.
Available with swivel brackets which can be adjusted as required, spot lights are particularly valuable in providing focused lighting for reading and other activities calling for close concentration. The spot lights can also be used to highlight particular features of a room, such as ornaments and plants.
The installation of spotlights fittings can be greatly simplified if they are wired to existing lighting points. If , however, a ceiling rose reveals that the circuit is wired on the loop in system , then it might be necessary to connect the spot lights using joint box method and the ceiling will need extensive repairs or replacement.
