There are several types of shower mixer available on the market. They fall into two types – those which simply mix the hot and cold flows, and those which make an effort to provide the mixed flows at a constant, preset, temperature. All of them are usually finished in chrome and the controls are made of a strong plastic or metal which will resist most knocks and blows.
This is a surface-mounted mixer control with separate supply pipes emerging through the wall to supply the control which provides power over flow and temperature.
Built-in mixer: This built-in control is supplies from behind the shower wall so that the supply pipes are hidden. These fittings are also available in various colours.
Thermostatic mixer: This thermostatic mixer is also supplied from behind and provides two separate controls – one for presetting the temperature, and one for adjusting the flow of the water once the user is inside the shower. Contact London Plumbers for more information.
